On Thursday, May 25, the Secretary General for Research and Innovation, Mr. Athanasios Kyriazis, attended the awards ceremony celebrating the winners of «#Her_Research 2023» competition, organized by the Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs (SEGE), which was held at the International Exhibition and Congress Center of TIF-HELEXPO, during BEYOND Expo, the international exhibition for innovation, entrepreneurship and technology.

Mr. Kyriazis presented one of the «#Her_Research 2023» awards to one of the winning research teams of the 2nd round of the Action, carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investment, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Democritus University of Thrace, the Hellenic Mediterranean University and Ionian University. In his address, he congratulated the awarded female researchers and stressed the importance of this innovative SEGE initiative towards empowering women researchers in terms of know-how, access to financing and networking with the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Finally, he indicated that promoting and highlighting the contribution of women in Research and Entrepreneurship is a priority and a goal for the GSRI, as confirmed by the “Innovation Unit for Women” launched by ATHENA RC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Development and Investment and under the auspices of the GSRI, with the aim of promoting aspects of research, innovation and entrepreneurship for women in Greece.
