Following cooperation with the Ministry of Rural Development, we would like to inform the interested parties that in the framework of the initiative for the cooperation of China with the states of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) which include Greece (Initiative 14 +1), and specifically regarding agricultural issues, the Association for the Promotion of Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector APACCCEEC (Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the CEE Countries) is planning the implementation of the pilot project “Accelerator Program for start-ups in the field of agriculture between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe”, which will take place from 27 March to 2 April 2023 in Sofia, Bulgaria (Sofia Tech Park).

The aim of the program is to support innovative products and services, attract new entrepreneurs, exchange knowledge and enhance competitiveness among APACCCEEC member countries in the field of agriculture. The areas of interest cover a wide range of the agricultural sector, such as innovative solutions in agriculture, implementation of GIS systems, sustainable agriculture and organic products, circular economy.

In summary, the selection process is as follows:

• The start-up submits a summary proposal which will be evaluated by a jury (the methodology is available here)
• The 20 proposals / start-ups that will be selected, will be invited to be presented in Sofia from March 27 to April 2, 2023
• On the last day (April 2nd), each start-up will be invited to present its business proposal to evaluators, investors, enterprises, media and diplomats from China and CEE countries.

The three best proposals will be awarded with the following prizes:

1. €25,000 for 1st place
2. €15,000 for 2nd place
3. €10,000 for 3rd place

Eligible to participate are start-ups that meet the participation criteria, while the submission of proposals is done through an online application, with a deadline of March 10, 2023.
